QUETTA: Security forces in Balochistan on Thursday claimed to have arrested a man who is “a serving officer in the Indian Navy and deputed to the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW)”.
The man was arrested during a raid in the province, said a security official on condition of anonymity. He said the ‘RAW officer’ had been shifted to Islamabad for interrogation, as he was suspected of involvement in various acts of terrorism in Balochistan.
“The spy had links with separatist elements in Balochistan,” said the security official. He said the officer was also involved in sectarianism and terror attacks in Karachi.
Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said the Indian spy was arrested in the southern part of the province. “The arrest has proved Indian involvement in Balochistan,” Bugti said.
