Crying can be a Beauty Hazard

Recently I was going through a magazine & came across an article about about the benefits of crying & shedding tears. The article especially focused on how the tears help the women to live longer and as it is considered unmanly to cry , men have a
shorter life-span compared to women and men to whom tears come easily. In fact on the western side of the globe it is a widespread notion that crying is therapeutic and also the converse, that failure to cry is a danger to our health. Psychiatrists, counselors and psycho therapists all around the world firmly believe that crying is more constructive than destructive to health.
Although, I agree with all the points mentioned above as being woman crying is something natural to me but on the other
hand, another natural instinct comes over me very strongly and that is the need to look beautiful. Although a good cry really lightens the heart any day but it creates havoc on our eyes. Eyes become red & puffy and are a tell-tale that we’ve been crying especially when we have to put up a smiling mask for a number of reasons.
This desire to look strong, confident and beautiful lead to me research for a number of ways that can help cure the puffy eyes even after we’ve poured our heart out through tears. I felt it my duty to share these remedies with sisters all over the globe. So here are some really effective ways to make your eyes look pretty & not puffy:
Using tea bags on the eyes are one of the best cures for puffy eyes after crying. Place some tea bags in the refrigerator for some hours and then place these chilled tea bags on the puffy eyes for a few minutes. Keep on changing the tea bags as they become warm, once they are taken out of the refrigerator.Apart from the tea bags, placing cucumbers and potato slices on the eyes are also said to be effective ways of reducing puffy eyes from crying. One important thing here is to chill these slices before applying on the eyes. The cooling effect of the cucumber or potato will help in reducing the swelling and also refresh the eyes.
Using ice cubes as well as placing chilled apple slices on puffy eyes are said to be good ways of curing the swelling around the eyes. Hold the ice cubes wrapped in a piece of cloth around the eyes for 5-7 minutes and the puffiness will surely reduce.
Another way of treating puffy eyes from crying is applying egg whites on them. Whip the egg whites in a bowl and apply it on the area around the eyes that are swollen. Leave them on the eyes for some minutes till it dries up and then rinse with regular tap water. The swelling and puffiness will be reduced as egg whites help in making the skin tight and firm. Honey which has several health benefits is also a good way of treating puffy eyes from crying. Take some honey in a bowl
and apply on the areas where the puffiness has occurred. It not only helps in reducing the swelling, but also eases the pain caused by it. However, make sure that it does not touch the eye as it can cause burning in the eyes.
Using rose water is also said to be a good puffy eyes from crying remedy. In a small vessel, take some ice cubes and pour rose water to it. Dip a cotton pad into it and hold it to your eyes for a few minutes. You will surely find relief from the discomfort caused by the puffiness and swelling.
Though covering the puffiness with makeup is not a very good idea, it can be used as the last resort, especially if you have to go out immediately. You can make use of foundations and concealers to hide the swelling that develops around

How to Prevent Puffy Eyes After Crying
Many times people go to sleep just after crying and this can actually cause eyes to become puffy in the morning. Though adequate rest and sleep are necessary to cure puffy eyes, it is best to avoid this for some time. Trying one of these remedies first, before going to bed will prevent the eyes from becoming puffy. Another way to prevent puffy eyes from crying is to drink lots of water.
