A hacker has claimed to have succeeded in jailbreaking the new smartphone iPhone from Apple and picture of the hacked device have also appeared on the internet with days of its launch.

The hacker used the Spirit jailbreaking tool to jailbreak the device. The toll was earlier created by the hacker who succeeded in hacking into earlier versions of the smartphone. The pictures of the iPhone 4 were posted via a Twitter update.

A hacker named, MuscleNerd posted the pictures that showed iPhone 4 running a high resolution version of Cydia and full root shell. This implies that the device is jailbroken and the hackers were able to download and use any software on it.

Cydia is an app used to browse and download apps for a jailbroken iPhone. Apple has not authorized the use of Cyndia as it allows users to even install software that are not permitted by the company.

A hacker group called the Dev Team, which was behind the software responsible for jailbreaking earlier versions of iPhone, has said that it will upgrade its tools to work on the new iOS4.

Meanwhile, Apple is expected to launch version 4.01 of its iOS as soon as tomorrow. the new update might fix the flaw that has been exploited to hack the device as it is trying to find the problem behind dropping signal when the device is held in particular manner.
