Musharraf has no future in politics: Ejazul Haq
LAHORE: The PML-Zia Chairman Muhammad Ejazul Haq and former minister in former president Pervez Musharraf regime stated that the ex-dictator has no future in the country’s politics.
He was addressing a press briefing at Lahore Press Club here Saturday.
Hamayun Akhtar Khan from PML (Like-minded) and MPA Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood from PML (Functional) also accompanied him.
Ejazul Haq told media that they have written letters to respective leadership of various factions of the PML, urging them for working together to pull Pakistan out of the prevailing crises on different fronts.
He added that in this regard, they have received very positive response from the PML-F head Pir Sahab Pagara, while, the PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain also expressed his resolve to jointly work for the welfare and progress of Pakistan and assured his party’s cooperation.
To a question, the PML-Z President said that they were also in contact with other political parties including Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf, Jamaat-e-Islami and Sindh Awami Ittihad, adding, “We want the sincere and patriot people must come forward to play their role for the welfare and prosperity of the nation.”
He said, “We will meet again at Pir Sahab Pagara’s residence in Karachi on August 5, 2010 to chalk-out joint strategy in this regard.
To another question, he said that they support the formation of new provinces to ensure timely, speedy and effective administrative measures to facilitate the general public.
Ziaul Haq, Hamayun Akhtar and Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood also strongly condemned the anti-media resolution presented by a PML-N MPA Sana Ullah Mastikhel and subsequently, unanimously passed by the Punjab Assembly.
They said that all the parliamentary parties at their own must take cognizance of the fake degrees of the MPs and expose the black sheep in their folds.
