The PKMAP leaders said that the long power load shedding was being observed under a planned conspiracy in Balochistan and in the peak agriculture season. It is nothing but an economic massacre of the people, they charged and noted that the power load shedding in various parts of the province had caused heavy financial losses to growers during last two weeks.

Demonstrators declared that the protest would continue until a respite in the duration of load shedding.
On the other hand, officials said the power outages were a result of the theft of power transmission lines in Chattar area of Balochistan, where “thieves took away 70 kilometres of transmission line”. As a result, only 350 megawatts of electricity is available in Balochistan against a demand of 1,200MW.
