MUMBAI: Vidya Balans starrer Tumahri Sulu hit theatres across India last Friday and earned positive reviews from the moviegoers. Though the film made Rs 2.87 crore on the first day, the numbers showed a remarkable growth.
After a lukewarm outset, the film gathered pace on the second day thanks mainly to positive word of mouth and a relatable story and a memorable performance by Vidya to the effect that the business of the film almost doubled, according to an Indian website.
The film witnessed a growth of 60.63 percent on the very second day. This was not any different on day 3 as it earned Rs 5.93 crore.
Despite stiff competition from Justice League, people seem to be enjoying Vidya Balan’s slice of life film and the growing box office numbers are proof that it is being liked by masses as well.
Tumhari Sulu released alongside Zareen Khan – Gautam Rode’s Aksar 2. Since the latter hasn’t really received great reviews, Vidya Balan’s film will have an edge over it.
Kapil Sharma’s second Bollywood outing – Firangi will hit screens this week. This is yet to be seen as to how movie is taken by the cinema lovers.
